Balance volume and pan
Balance the melody and accompaniment first, then adjust the stereo position.
Adjust volume
Volume ranges from 0 to 100. Enter a value in the inspector and apply it, or drag a bar in the VOLUME panel. Zero-volume notes are silent in preview.
Selections can be adjusted relatively. Try one bar first to understand its connection to the selected note. Zoom in horizontally if overlapping bars are hard to target.
Example: accompaniment is too loud
- Open the accompaniment part and select its notes.
- Lower the volume slightly and apply.
- Return to ALL and listen with the melody.
Place sounds left or right
Pan uses -100 for left, 0 for center, and +100 for right. Edit it in the inspector or the PAN panel.
As a starting experiment, try one accompaniment at -20 and another at +20 while leaving the melody centered. These are example values, not a rule; listen and adjust to suit your arrangement.
When to use MAX VOL
MAX VOL scales the whole song so its highest volume reaches 100 while preserving the ratio between notes. It is not a tool for balancing one part against another.
If the melody is buried, adjust the relevant part rather than repeatedly normalizing the entire song.
